The SCITEC Network:
Supporting Engineering and Design Technology for Maine Teachers and Students
The SCITEC Network is a series of three-year projects across the state of Maine aimed at helping Maine high school students meet Maine’s Learning Results revisions related to engineering and technological design. SCITEC programs bring faculty and students from Maine high schools, Career and Technical Education centers and University of Maine schools together with staff from the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance and the National Center for Technological Literacy at the Museum of Science in Boston.
SCITEC Network project activities focus on the newly revised Maine Learning Results Science and Technology Standards.

The Maine STEM Collaborative's STEM Summit (http://www.mainestem.org/)
Save the Date! On January 29, 2010 the Maine STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Collaborative is holding its second STEM Summit at the Augusta Civic Center. The Collaborative gathered educators, businesses, and state and local leaders at the state’s first summit in 2007 resulting in increased public awareness of STEM needs and learning opportunities in Maine, successfully generating state-wide conversations, fostering organizations to develop a more formal and permanent voice with broad representation across the state, and started the process for outlining a pathway for a Maine STEM initiative; one that aims to improve STEM education for all Maine citizens in order to create an innovative and competitive workforce.
