Biography
Prior to joining MMSA, Jo completed two years of national service as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) member at KIDS Consortium in Auburn, Maine, where she worked with KIDS Consortium staff to increase the number of Maine K-12 students involved in environmental service-learning projects in their communities. Jo also helped KIDS Consortium improve its use of technology and social networking tools.
Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jo holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, mathematics, and physics from Kalamazoo College and a master’s degree in physical chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has worked as a newspaper reporter, editor, chemist, and computer programmer. Jo brings to MMSA a diverse background in information technology, communications, and science.
